Homeschool Websites – Together At Home
Home School Forum June 17th, 2006

The problem with most of the homeschool megasites is the blatent mixing of editorial and commercial information.  The sites do not tell visitors whether the resource recommendations and resources that they promote are paid-advertising or selected for non-commercial purposes.

Who does it right?

homeschool blogs June 13th, 2006

i’m trying to create a blog – a group blog – that homeschool moms and dads can use as their discussion of online learning curriculum.

The technical issues should be easy but I’ve gotten confused on the mechanics of different user IDs.

this online homeschool blog post is a test of the direct login which hopefully is now working.

IS there a good help section on creating homeschool forums and blogs using wordpress?

Convincing your husband that homeschooling is OK June 12th, 2006

A common problem is that many husbands don’t want their kids to be homeschooled. For whatever reason (socialization, rites of passage, whatever), they often refuse to let their wives homeschool the kids.

In some cases, this might be the right decision.

In others, you might find you need some ideas on how to change his mind.  A few thoughts:

The best way to convince your husband is find another homeschooling family that he would be impressed by and spend some time with them.

If you just argue with him, you won’t really have his support. Without his support, it won’t be as good.

So try to find some local families that are a few years ahead of you in the homeschooling cycle and see if time together does the trick.

Also, involve him.  Give him a subject or part of subject to cover….
